• Theme: Open – any subject of your choice
• Word Limit: Maximum 1,000 words
• Format: Submit as a word document
• Font: 12-point Times New Roman
• Front page with a pseudonym, the name of the author and word count. The stories themselves must only have the pseudonym to maintain anonymity
• Entry Fee: £5 per story
• Submission Deadline: Monday 22nd September

• Open to all Residents of the United Kingdom and Ireland
Prizes:
1st Prize: £50 and a Trophy
2nd Prize: £30
3rd Prize: £20
Payment details for the entry fee will be provided upon submission via the competition email. All proceeds go directly to support the Angus Book Festival.
Please note: Scott and Lawson Publishing accepts nor responsibility for entry fees or the payment of prizes. Prize money will be given Angus Book Festival for the prizes and distributed by them.
Terms and Conditions:
1. Entries must be the original work of the author and must not have been previously published in any form, including online.
2. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in any part of the writing process is strictly prohibited.
3. Entries must be submitted in a word document using 12-point Times New Roman font.
4. Each entry must be accompanied by the £5 entry fee. Payment instructions will be provided on submission.
5. The decision of the judging panel is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding results.
6. Entrants may submit two stories, but each must be submitted separately with its own fee.
7. Winners will be contacted via email and announced publicly as part of the Angus Book Festival Celebrations
8. By entering, you agree to allow your name and story title to be used in promotional materials related to the competition.
9. Entries that do not comply with these guidelines may be disqualified.
